The Collective: Workplace

This is a portion of my Senior Thesis Project that is currently in progress. To be completed by May 2022.

Project Objective:  Renovate an existing two-story building in Lansing's Stadium District. Begin by performing client interviews, an in-depth site analysis, and thorough research. This project requires understanding and application of interior building codes, including occupancy types/loads, means of egress, fire safety as well as ADA guidelines.

Concept:

With a modern take on the office, The Collective Coworking Co. will function as a vibrant workplace that promotes productivity, enhances functionality, and reinforces efficiency. Through carefully curated design solutions, the users will feel connected to their colleagues and feel a sense of belonging within the community and the environment. The space will fulfill the client's needs while empowering them to meet their goals and encouraging a work-life balance.

The building will be functionally space planned to include a variety of touch down spaces, collaboration zones, and proper wayfinding. Safety and wellbeing will be prioritized, creating an environment that supports physical and physiological health, making the users feel comfortable, happy, and healthy. With an emphasis on sustainable practices, materials with a minimal impact on the environment will be utilized.
