Root 85: Hospitality

Project Objective: This project consists of a redevelopment of a quant storefront in Albion, MI to a warm and inviting breakfast café with a fully equipped commercial kitchen. The redevelopment will be universally designed while following historical regulations.

Concept: Inspired by iron, Root 85, will incorporate aspects of the locally owned Iron Company that initially brought people to Albion and formed the basis of their diverse population. The breakfast club will showcase a variety of textures with rich accents along with rustic finishes to add to the vintage Albion community.

Researched Topics: Historic preservation, interior codes, the city of Albion, Albion Reinvestment Corporation, restaurant design, color psychology, lighting, and commercial grade furniture.
